what causes the 0211 keyboard error message to appear? I am getting it on my compaq presario V5000. Can't get past it except into the set up and I've no earthly idea what to do there. Can't download the fix tool so that's no help either. Will I have to have it sent to the shop for surgery? I tried plugging another keyboard into the thing but got nowhere. Could I try putting the fix tool on a cd, using another computer and feeding that to the non-functional machine? What else can I try?
In the BIOS there is an option to halt on keyboard error. It is enabled by default. Disable it to ignor this error. You may get all kinds of errors in Windows when it starts if there are keys stuck. It MAY become unmanageable in windows.
