Iam curious about how to go about changing a setting on my desktop. The shortcuts on my desktop which the background is blue ,the text is now inside a differant shade of blue (text naming shortcut is white)I tried messing around with the desktop settings to no avail ,I just could not get my desktop back to the background being one solid color ,the differant shade of blue incasing the text Iam sure must be some easy setting most likley in front of my face that Iam not seeing. Out of frustration I opened the system restore utility and I had a restore point for earlier that day when the shortcut text was as its always been ,not highlighted with a differant color. The rerstore point worked and my desktop was back to how I had it configured. My curiousity is getting the best of me on this one I have to know what setting you change to highlight the text in desktop setting/properties ?

Nick, Follow the instructions at the link below.
Remove icon border shadows on the desktop
http://www.mvps.org/marksxp/Windows...Also right click your Desktop, under the "Desktop" tab click the "Customize Desktop" button, under the "Web" tab make sure that everthing is unchecked, click Apply/OK.
