Hi,

I recently upgraded to Windows Vista Ultimate, and I don't know if this problem is due to Windows Vista, or if it's a glitch with Yahoo! Messenger, however whenever I'm logged into Yahoo! Messenger, it simply keeps popping up on top of the other applications.

I'll minimize it, and start typing on something and it just pops up like that. I've looked into the preferences section of the application and I've UNCHECKED where it says "Keep Yahoo! Messenger on top of other applications" but it still keeps popping up.

Is there a fix or patch for this?

you might try run, msconfig
uncheck in startup files.
may work that way

Yes but it's not that I don't want it running. I DO want the program to startup with each reboot.

The problem is that once the desktop has finished loading, the application insists on being on top of the other applications. It's proving to be a real pain because when I minimize it, and start working on something else, it pops right back up and whatever I was typing just stops because the Yahoo! app. is now the open window.

So basically I have to constantly minimize and/or exit the program when in fact it should be able to remain logged in, remain minimized so that I can work on other things and still be able to receive chats.

Well, whatever it was it seems to have fixed itself. Go figure.
