Hi friends, My Laptopis HP DV2000 1 GB Core 2 DUO, Win VISTA Preloaded, I tried to install XP on Vista following instructions from website (using nlite SATA driver etc etc.) However XP is not installing and the situation is whenever I start it says choose from 1. Window Normal2 safe mode etc and it doesnt start in any mode (keeps restarting) i tried to reinstall XP many time but at the last stage it reaches same scenario. i am tired of it and want VISTA back Please HELP I DONT HAVE VISTA DVD

Did you not create the HP DVD Backup Disks ?

Did you delete the Recovery Partition ?

You can order the system disc(s) from HP or go out & purchase a separate Vista disc for the machine.

Any other way..can't XP just be uninstalled somehow?

doing what you did, destroyed the master boot record.
you'll need a disk to recover, or get to the windows recovery partition on d:/ drive.
should be a recovery on the first boot screen, and 'f' key to execute it.

hey im running windows vista and want to change back to xp without formatting my hard disk becasue it has important work and things on it. is there a possible way?


my pc is the following:
amd athlon 3800+, 2gb ram, 250gb hard disk, ati x1900xtx
