Hello everyone. Guy I need to discuss that my DVD Rom is not working and I want to install windows Xp. I've pre installed Windows Vista on my PC. Could anyone please guide me how I can start XP setup while startup, I want to keep both windows. I don't know why my new laptop's multi drive don't read the writed CD's or DVD's, that only read white surface Cd's :( Thank you

Firstly you need a working cd/dvd player to be able to install XP, to install it from a folder, you would still need the cd player to be able to copy the files onto the hard drive folder.
To setup from a folder a XP floppy boot disk would be needed.
Secondly if your computer has a sata hard drive you will need drivers from Acer for it as well as all other XP drivers it requires.
Next you will need to create a partition for XP on the Vista drive unless you already have it partitioned, or you have 2 hard drives.
If you get this far you will need to use a partition manager to enable you to boot, both Vista and XP.
Installing XP after Vista will destroy the Vista boot loader.

Well well I already have Windows XP folder copied in the hard drive a while ago. Actuelly my drive isn't working for many CD's, it read only white surface CD's or DVD's, all other CD's it shows as blank. If it possible then well me hot to install XP from folder while startup. Thanks
