Reply: (edit)I guess you do like Vista after all .... LOL You ended up with this situation, because dual boot OS' normally have to be installed in their order of release. In other words, XP should have been installed before Vista, but you didn't have that opportunity since your machine came to you pre-loaded with Vista. Anyway, see the steps involved in restoring Vista and dual booting from this link. Only follow the instruction from the part that's applicable to you at this point. Good luck!

Reply: (edit)Good luck from me too. If it works - great! But if it doesn't, be advised you may have difficulty using HP Vista recovery DVDs to restore your OS to preinstalled factory state. You also may be voiding your warranty. AFAIK Recovery DVDs will cease to work whenever the partition information is changed. i_Xp/VistaUser

Reply: (edit)why didnt you just install XP in a different folder on teh same partition? Normally you will be prompted to select which OS to boot from on startup.
