Okay. I bought me a new comp the other day, and it came with Vista Home Basic on it. Now, I play alot of games, and since most dont run on Vista, I decided to install XP. It installed just fine, but it gave me issues. 1) No sound. I thought that all I would have to do was download the correct driver, but this is where #2 comes in. 2) The comp wont detect my LAN if xp is installed. Any way to fix these issues?

Another post about trying to get rid of pre-installed Vista. Have you read the following thread

Hi
drivers here for xphttp://www.emachines.com/support/pr...
click 'downloads' sigmatel audio driver for xp
:)

Thanks for the link. :) But now my issue is. the comp wont connect to my LAN unless Vitsa is installed. ><

You have to download & install ALL your XP drivers...motherboard chipset, sound, video, LAN, etc. Unfortunately eMachines only lists Vista drivers, so you've got some research to do.

"I play alot of games, and since most dont run on Vista, I decided to install XP."
You meant *your games*, not games at large, right? All my games run in Vista fine. In fact, Armed Assault demo actually runs better in Vista than XP, which is surprising...
"But how am I supposed to download all those drivers when I cant get online? O.o"
You should have collected your drivers before you did this. Easiest thing to do now is pop on another computer at an internet cafe, library, or friend's house and find the others.

Has anyone had any issues clean installing OEM XP over Vista Home Premium? I was planning on it due to my Netgear Wireless adapter wnpt121 is for XP and not vista, it works for a while, but I sometimes get Error messages claiming it needs to shut down to prevent further damages, I have heard also that 64 bit vista isnt compatible with shiiit, is this true? please help. Thanks!

64-bit vista requires all drivers to be digitally signed. Also, Kernel Patch Protection within it basically forces any legitimate software makers to not modify the kernel, and many system utilities like AV and personal firewalls do just that, so they can't work either until they are recoded.
This explains predominantly most of the incompatibilities. But in defense of Microsoft, these are measures that drastically improve the security of Windows. Look for this to be required in all future versions of Windows.
