I very stupidly tried to get rid of Vista on my machine and reload XP, didnt work as I am a total PC idiot. Now I have a problems where the PC will ask if I want to save or open a file but wont actually download anything? Please can someone help.

Thank you for your help, I trawled thtough this site and someone else had already replied to someone who also had the same problem, I downloaded Google Chrome and that lets me download now.
