WMMaker Stopped Working

I have opened my home video in Windows Movie Maker, edited, added titles and music. I click on 'publish', 'this computer', then name it for publishing to 'Videos', I choose the setting 'DV AVI then click 'publish'. At this point the screen goes a light grey with the screen barely visible and freezes. When I click to exit the message 'WMM has stopped working' appears. It offers to find a solution but does not.
