Wireless WPA connection

I tried setting up this little laptop with Vista this afternoon, with little success.
I set up our wireless network with WPA-PSK and MAC filtering, and have gotten two other devices to work on it (a XP laptop and an iPod). With this little Vista machine, I've gone round and round with it, but just can't get it to connect. It sees the network, but something just isn't letting it in...
Am I just out of luck with Vista, or do I need to keep chipping at it til I figure it out?

Ok try setting up your wireless to WPA 2 Personal if that is available on your router, WPA is just a prelim of WPA 2. If you need to set up the mac address for the router. Just Type the following and look for the physical or mac address. Type ipconfig /all at a command prompt. Command prompt is located in the accessories in the program files.

Thanks for the suggestions.
The laptop won't connect with it set up with either WPA Personal or WPA2 Personal. The MAC filtering is set up correctly in the router with the correct MAC address, and the access code is correct (because both the XP laptop and the iPod both connect with those settings). It just won't connect.
I've even tried to set the channels up the same, but the laptop will only accept a value "between 10 and 10". The Wireless Router is set up with Channel 7.
I even tried to set the network type up the same as the route, and that didn't work. I can't remember the type right now, but it's not Ad Hoc or Automatic.
Any other suggestions?
