Hello all,
I have a Gateway laptop MT3422 with Vista Home Premium installed. Over all i am pleased with the performance except for the wireless situation. I have all hotfixes and updates from both Microsoft and vendors yet I cannot connect to the access point if my connection has 3 bars. I thought it was the router but all my other wireless devices can connect fine. I have XP dual booting and the wireless signal is not only stronger from the same distance I am using Vista at but it connects quickly upon signing in.
My question, does anyone know any vista tweaks that i can use in order to improve my wireless performance ?Thanks.

Might start with backtracks live cd to see what is out there, wireless wise.
Could try some other live cd too just to see how fast it will setup.
There is some other program I saw that will show all wireless signals. Might have to buy a usb device with that. I can't remember where I saw that.
I'd start with the wave propogation and EFM. Could be that if you move the access point or move antenna a bit it will help. Some lights, phones, microwaves, motors, almost any electronic device can affect the signal.
I read it wrong and answer it wrong too. So get off my case you peanut.

but i dont believe its so much a problem with the AP or other wireless signals as it is with Vista. I have XP dual booted and it picks up my AP right away upon logging in while vista either doesnt pick it up or doesnt connect. I have the updated drivers for the laptop as of now.
