so i took my computer to california and was using a plugin for the internet instead of the wireless and now the wireless wont work. the only way to get internet is to plug the computer in the router

uninstall the plugin or the software you installed. Right after that uninstall the wi-fi driver on your computer and reinstall it. To do it, right click My Computer - advanced system settings - hadware - device manager - locate the wifi driver.
Alternatively, right-click on the wi-fi icon located on the bottom left part of your screen and click diagnose and repair. Also use this wifi tool
