Comment: I have a WRT54G wireless router and have two Win Vista machines and one Windows XP machine. While the XP machine connects to the wireless router in a jiffy, the Vista machines show "Limited Connectivity" or "Local Only" for most of the time. Several reboots later, the Vista machines are able to connect. I know Vista has a problem with WEP, so I've tried using WPA but even with that connecting a is a problem. Right now I've enabled DHCP on the router and all machines have dynamic IPs. Setting static IPs for each is one solution, but my wife will get totally last when it comes to changing IP addresses every time she's at her work place. Is there a way around this? Are others also having problems with using Vista to connect to wireless networks?

Reply: (edit)I also have the WRT54G wireless router and I have had no problem using it with Vista Business and a Belkin USB wireless adapter. I also use WPA. I use the option: Obtain IP address automatically, as I have done with XP. It seems to works more quickly and more smoothly for me in Vista. If you use that option than I don't think that your wife should have to change any IP addresses herself.
