Comment: Well guys I'm trying to install a fresh copy of Windows XP on 160 GB SATA hard drive but I read somewhere that I do need to install the SATA hard drive drivers before windows XP could recognize the SATA hard drive but I don't have the USB flopy drive, I don't want to buy it either. Is there any other way to install the XP on SATA after installing the f6 SATA drivers? Thanks

Reply: (edit)No floppy = no XP install on XP SATA. If you have an onboard ide connector for floppy, borrow one from a friend, they may even have one they don't want. If this is a new computer and doesn't have onboard connector for floppy, it will probably have an option in bios to run SATA as IDE. Set this option to install XP, you will need a version of XP that includes service pack 1 or later to use SATA.

Reply: (edit)Just download the pre-release, or Beta for SP3. Slipstream it to a CD and be down with it. Core2 Duo 1.86 2GB DDR2 667 Nvidia 6800GS Asus P5L-MX
