Specs: Windows Vista
I have an acer aspire 5810tz-4657 with windows vista. It will not boot up windows vista. It shows the microsoft corporation screen with the loading green bar and then the screen stays black before the log on screen. I have all of my son's baby pictures on this computer and do not have them backed up. I'm desperate to at least recover my saved documents. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

... try tapping the <F8> <key> as the pc starts up/reboots

... select the "repair" option using up/down arrows then [press enter]

Thank you- However, I did try that as well. Same thing, just a blank black screen.

... try booting up (I prefer KNOPPIX) with a created live cd: http://www.livecdlist.com/

... then backup what you need to other media.

... I'm not sure if the Acer recovery management allows a backup option(?) guess you could try if all else fails.

If you still faces the problem after applying the above suggestion. then you need to format your hard drive, formatting means that all your data will be lost, but don't worry you can recover your formatted data with the help of data recovery software. I would recommended Stellar windows data recovery software recovers formatted files & folder from any Windows based system.
