Comment: "At long last, the final version of Windows Vista is here. And while it may be days, weeks, or even months before you can get your hands on this shipping version of Microsoft's next operating system, you can at least see what's coming in this set of screenshot galleries, which highlight the unique features of each Windows Vista product edition. Enjoy!"

Reply: (edit)Forget it. An Upgrade will never give you the feeling of a super clean OS installation. Upgraded OS usually have traces of the former OS. i_XpUser

Reply: (edit)suatcini, Just to differentiate on the impacts of Full Installation OS and Upgraded OS... You're looking to buy a car. Which do you think give you more confidence - new car with 5 or 10 years warranty or used car sold as is with 60-day limited warranty? i_XpUser

Reply: (edit)If the Vista Upgrade CD works like past upgrade CDs, you won't have to install WinXP & then upgrade in place...just start the Vista installation on a formnatted HDD, pop in the XP CD as proof of a previous OS when asked, then continue with the 'clean install'

Reply: (edit)Dear Jam, That was what I was about to say. I believe we can clean install with an upgrade Vista DVD as we did with an upgrade WinXP CD if we have the qualifying copy of a previous OS. Regards suatcini
