Windows Vista Recycle Bin Won't Delete

Specs: Windows Vista
Hopefully someone on here can help me. Ok i was organizing my external Hard drive. In the process of cuttng and pasting I made 4 copies of my music folders. I deleted the copies a 10 gb one a 7 gb one a 6 gb one and a 2 gb one everything is about 26 gb. There are many sub folders inside of them.

My recycle bin did not prompt me that the files were too big to delete and ask do I want to delete them permanently like it should have (and i should have clicked to not have them go to recycle bin in first place or delete internally so it wouldnt be such as a big deletion). Anyway, when i try to empty recycle bin it says PREPARING TO DELETE for a while as its finding the all the songs I guess and then it disappears. I try to individually delete a folder and it does the same thing.

It also does the same thing for Restoring all the folders and I cannot copy or cut and paste the folders to my computer to better delete them. It is like they are stuck in the recycle bin whenever I turn my external hard drive on they show up in the recycle bin and cannot be moved out.

I tried disk cleanup and the same result happens. 26gb just sitting there of space that I need. Can anyone on this forum who is computer savvy help me by telling me how to delete these files there has gotta be some way?

You can try @ your own risk:

(1)Go to Personalize and change the theme then get out and you can go back and change the theme back and your delete folder should start working again.

(2)Open a command prompt window with admin rights:

At the command prompt, type: rd /s \recycler

This will delete the entire Recycle Bin folder. Windows will recreate it the next time it's needed.
