"lost signal" displays on the monitor?

Could be the power supply kicking off, or reducing to a point where it affects the video card output to the monitor.

Guess the first thing I would do is to start reseating things. Make sure the connector is making good contact. Take a look inside the case and make sure the video card is seated properly.

And as mattie wtote, "wait for better drivers". In my opinion ATI drivers are a crap shoot for Vista right now.

...if it ain't broke, then you ain't having fun...

All PSUs are not created equal. The fact that your PSU is rated at 600W means very little. Is it a decent name brand PSU or is it a "Bestec"? eMachines are famous for using low quality PSUs in their systems.

600w PSU means nothing it is the quality of the product, eMachines are notorious for using bargain basement components, hence why they are sold at keen prices.

If you want to play games then bargain basement off-the-shelf PC's are not the way forward.

As an aside VISTA is very immature and would not consider mainstream till at least SP1 is released in 6 months or so.

Windows XP would be a better choice of O/S!
