windows vista logon problems

Specs: vista os, 1.7gb
vista home. when i boot up.a blue screen appears instead of booting to windows vista screen. i think the user /administrator pw was set, and allso somehow it set a hdd pw. now when i hit f-2 i can get to the bios blue screen and reset the hdd pw,and the user/administrator pw and save/log out, but when i re boot, it goes to windows vista pw screen,like regular windows vista boot up,but it wont let me logon as administrator/user. no i didnot save my user pw on a stick.....thanks for the help.

Somehow it set a hdd password. This doesn't just happen magically out of nowhere. This sounds very suspicious.

I would suspect this is a stolen laptop. If I'm wrong, then you will need to contact the manufacture of the laptop and they can help you further.
