Hi,

I am looking for a little advice. I currently have Windows XP Home and am considering formatting and installing a fresh install of Vista home or Vista business. I am just wondering if the specification of my machine is up to scratch? I have used the upgrade advisor and they said that my computer is capable of running it but I wanted to know if its capable of running it good... My specification is, AMD 3500 64, 1.5GB Ram, 256 Nvidia 7900GT Pci-E, Soudblaster Audigy 2, 200GB HD...

Thanks

Looks good to me. It should run well.

FYI, make sure you get the latest drivers for your motherboard's chipset, and DEFINITELY your video card drivers. Especially if you game, the latest video drivers substantially improved gaming performance on my machine.

Hi,

Thanks for a quick response...
Is it worth purchasing a fresh install of vista home?

Why not go to M$ and run the upgrade advisor tool as has been mentioned before..

Personally can not see any compelling reason to use Vista!

Read his original post. He did.

"Personally can not see any compelling reason to use Vista!"

The enhanced security in Vista alone is a very compelling reason to move to it.

Pick the None Home version. It's has more "real" security and everything Windows 2000 has. Just my opinion.
