Wondered if any of you have had trouble with Windows Media Center. Media Player works flawlessly and I have also installed Nero Ultimate so I have also had access to video and audio files wihtout a problem. Whenever I go into Windows Media Center I can get through a few pages and then it just freezes the entire computer. The only thing I can do is restart. I have tried to do the setup of Media Center but it freezes again.

The rest of the system (at least at present) is running flawlessly. I haven't had a crash or freeze up in two days. For me that is pretty good.

Please let me know if any of you are experiencing the same problem and, if you did, how you went about solving it (short of not opening the program!!)

Thanks!

Just tried Windows Media Center again (must be nuts) and it appeared to be working better. Then I tried to open music and wanted to fully let it load. Came back to the computer to find that the computer had restarted. Can't understand why. Any ideas??

The problem is its Vista. ;)

Maybe Nero and Media center are conflicting with each other. Have you tried uninstalling Nero and seeing if Media center still crashes?

Cobra,

Uninstalled Nero and Media Center did work a little better. It still crashed with a blue screen but more of it worked than before. I am beginning to wonder why one would really want Media Center anyway. Windows Media Player will play video, pictures, radio (through URGE) and does just about everything that Media Center can do. I'm not in to recording live TV. I have Dish Network and have the ability to record it. I find no real use for the Media Center short of duplication.

Think I need Nero a lot more than I need Media Center.

Your thoughts??
