Comment:

i just got a sony vaio for christmas and it has been running fine. well now it wont load the login screen for normal startup or safe mode. a couple days ago it wouldnt let me run programs that normally asked for my permission when i started them and it would not connect to any network. when trying to run one of the programs it would freeze the location at which the file or shortcut was like my desktop or start menu. then i booted it in safe mode and performed a system restore and it wouldnt let me login normally. so i boot again in safe mode and perform system restore again and now it wont load the login screen at all. im not sure what caused this problem but i believe it could have been a program i installed.

programs on my computer:
AVG Anti-virus Avast Anti-virus
Zonealarm
Spybot Search and Destroy Spyware Terminator
System Protect Advanced Windows Care Glary Utilities Winamp

why do you have 2 antivirus programs running on your computer at the same time. That would cause conflicts. Also try to get into safe mode and uninstall of one of them. Also your vaio should of came with a oem cd, logon in safe mode. Bring up a command prompt and then what ever your cd drive is enter command below.

at the command prompt enter E: if this is your cd/dvd drive, then type in chkdsk /f. Let it run and see if it picks up any errors in the disk.

Correction you have three antivirus on your computer, you need to pick on, zonealarm, avast and avg. I dont know why you need three but you need to get rid of all but one, also if zonealarm is a firewall then my mistake.
