Windows Live Messenger Bad Image

July 1, 2010 at 05:43:21
Specs: Windows Vista
When I click on The icon a box pops up saying "msnmsgr.exe - Bad Image" at the top and It says C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger\MSIMG32.dll is either not designed to run on Windows or it contains an error. ...
When you exit the box, another one comes up saying that Windows Live Messenger has stopped working.

I have searched many places but couldn't find a problem exactly like mine. If anyone can help, I'll greatly appreciate it. Thanks

P.S. I have already tried installing Windows Live Messenger Beta for Vista, but the problem is the same with it.

Beta? I just D/L’d & installed Windows Live Messenger 2009
Build 14.0.8117.416 (on XP though),
...which says it’ll work on Operating system: Windows XP with
Service Pack 2 (32-bit edition only), Windows Vista (32-bit or 64-
bit editions), Windows 7 (32-bit or 64-bit editions), or Windows
Server 2008.

I'd uninstall what you have, install version above.

Never mind. Sorry you replied. I just don't know what to do. I'll just forget about it. My computer has been screwed up ever since I got a virus removal done. Things don't run on start up like they should. And my messenger doesnt work. I had one installed, then it came up Bad Image, so i installed the beta one, since it was newest. It doesn't work. & it took all day to install using dial-up speed internet. Thank

When people post in forums such as this, they often OMIT very important information like , my PC was infected, or my PC overall isn't running well etc etc, they should START witht that type of information.

Often when a virus removal is done, it isn't done thoroughly, and malware can remain behind as well as open security holes. Sometimes there is residual damage as well to critical Operating System files.

Yeah i guess. But i have spybots search & destroy. Malewarebytes' Anti-malware & Combofix. Malewarebytes' Anti-malware i downloaded on my own before virus removal. & the person who did my virus removal downloaded the other things. Someone i asked for help from suggested those exact same programs. Knowing that i already have them & i runned them. I don't know.

I can get on e-Buddy for MSN, but i'd still like to find out what's wrong.
