Does anyone know the secret to getting Windows Live Messenger to act in conjunction with Windows Live Mail?

When I was running XP, whenever I'd click to check my mail from Messenger, it would automatically open up Windows Live Mail. Now, on Vista, it always opens my web browser. I have not succeeded in finding anything in program preferences to remedy this.

Anybody know what the trick is? Thanks for your help.

From what I can make out, you have to have Windows Live Email signed in before Messenger will use it for email retrieval. If you are not signed in Messenger will use the Hotmail web based email.
This link is where I got this info,
I hope this helps you! Its also worth making sure WLM is you default email client, by checking in Internet Options.
