Comment: i'm trying to get rid of the unnecessary programs on my computer. i'm not really sure what I should do with Windows Defender???
I already have ZoneAlarm Security Suite 2007 running and I have AdAware and Spybot S&D.
Is it necessary for me to also have Windows Defender running? Do these programs conflict at all??

Reply: (edit)Defender is not a firewall & it should not conflict with ZA. As far as conflicting with another anti-spyware tool on the machine, I can tell you from experience that it does not conflict with SpywareTerminator -- the preferred anti-spyware that I have running alongside Defender within Vista. Turn Windows Defender on or off

Reply: (edit)I don't care for Windows Defender, I turn mine off, it's one less resource being taken up. I'm running ZA security suite 7.1. So I really don't need it.
