Specs: Windows XP
Just downloaded Windows mail 2011 and now cannot send an email with an attachment. To explain more specifically, I had about 5 high res pix so I selected the pix and then the option to "email these (sic) files" using NOT the "keep the original sizes" but the "make my pictures large" under the "show more options" choice. When I do this, the email sending comes up error and remains in my outbox. What the? Can any advise as the wait on "Windows technical Support" was taking longer than between haircuts.

Few things. I have an 11.1mega pixel camera....say an average hi-res picture is 6-10megs....my email will laugh and then balk if I tried to send say 50 megs of pictures through my isp's server. This is why the little prompt comes and says "would you like to resize these???" Larger is definitely not going to work for most email servers. Most have a set limit on the size of a file attachment allowed to be sent usually 5-10megs per mail. At that resolution/size you MIGHT be able to send them 1 or 2 at a time, as is in hi-res, not larger! If you allow the photos to be shrunk, then you could probably send most or all of them at once. The pictures can still be seen in a large view, but would not work well for blow ups, or have true photo quality. Again each ISP/mail server provider usually tell you the max size.

If you cannot send any attachments, you need to change the security settings for attachments in Windows Mail options.

Its got nothing to do with the email/server limitation as its only some 1.5 meg in this format and I had no problems with this before i switched Live Mail 2011. It must be the security settings. Can you explain them to me more please?

instead of selecting pix and say send via email.....try opening your email...create new email and add the pictures one by one as attachments. I have found with the lastest incarnation of windows live...when I just open a folder...select photos and click send to email....it adds them, but not like normal....and references using skydrive......so I do not select the photos and send to email.....I open email....and then select photos.......never had this problem til the lastest incarnation of windows live came out which looks and acts more like office
