Why is my Vista computer suddenly lagging?

March 12, 2010 at 18:39:56
Specs: Windows Vista
My computer has been running completely normal over the past 3 years or so but this morning, it was lagging a lot. I don't know how to explain it well but I had music playing and as I load a new page, the music lags and skips a lot. It's not the music software because I tried on Youtube as well and it's the same result. I also checked for updates for my sound device but also nothing. I don't know what's wrong with it. My computer has no viruses, and I have around 72 GB of free space available. I've unplugged my speakers and put new ones in and it stills lags, skips, or whatever. Is there any way I can fix this?

Thank you

Try doing a System Restore back to a point prior to the problem occurring.

Usually is not anything major. Just reboot and you are done. Maybe you should defragment your system. I use Defraggler defrag and sometimes Auslogics defrag

Thank you everyone. I did a defragment on the system and everything seems to be normal again. Thank you! :)
