why does my c drive keep filling up,

Specs: Windows Vista
hi there in my computer my c drive keeps filling up, i have 30g on my c drive and only have 2.7g free, but i have 418g free in my d drive. why doesnt the space be uesd in my d drive instead of my c drive, when i download stuff i download to and save in my d drive.

Most programs will install by default to your c drive. You need to do custom installs and tell the programs to install on d. 30g is pretty small for a system drive these days. You may at some point wish to save your data and install on the larger partition. Just a thought.
