Why do Volume reduce automatically on laptop?

October 3, 2010 at 07:38:12
Specs: Windows Vista, 2.0, 4 gig
If I so much as touch my touchpad, the volume on my slider slowly reduces to zero. it happened suddenly this morning after visiting an ABC news link to an article that also had a video (inset) playing I wasnt expecting. I closed the browser tab and noticed the volume sliding down.

If I take over with the up and down arrows, the volume stays where I set it, but as soon as I touch the touchpad, the volume starts reducing. I reinstalled the driver for the touchpad, but problem still persists....

What else can I try? It is something with the touchpad...
