MSN isn't a browser as well google isn't one.

Depending on the version of Internet Explorer you're using.
In IE8, there is a little arrow at the right side of the page forward arrow, where you can choose the pages, you visited til then.

I have IE9 and I don't see an arrow to the right of the forward arrow but now tabs are collecting to the right of the URL line so I guess that is how I can get back to some things but when I navigate pages, I can't always get back to one fo the original ones. I'll keep working on it........thank you SO much for your help!

You are welcome.

Sorry that I couldn't help on IE9 because, I'm not using IE9.
I think, new programs like IE9 needs time to eliminate teething problems.
Therefore, I always wait at least 6 month, before installing such things.
