Hello to those with computer knowledge:
I have written 500 articles and stories that all are in WORD 2 FOR WINDOWS format.
TWO QUESTIONS:
1. Where can I buy an old or new copy of WORD 2 FOR WIDOWS - and2. How can I make WORD 2 FOR WINDOWS run with Vista on a 2006 Toshiba a135-S4527 ; AND on a Dell Inspiron with XP professional?
I will be grateful for advice that will put WORD 2 FOR WINDOWS in my hands and instruct me how to run it on these 2 computers.
If I can help any one who helps me with this, with connections to inexpensive land in ME or with connections to Merchant Marine work or social/business contacts in Europe or Indonesia - I will be happy to speak with you -- since "signatures" are programed into these posts we are instructed not to sign them
You can reach me at emacmur at Yahoo , With good wishes, E
Evan

Microsoft advise only Word 2003 or 2007 should be installed on Vista.
Looks like you need to install a version of Windows 3.x and Word version 2 within a VIRTUAL MACHINE:

This is strictly a wilda$$ guess, but have you tried OpenOffice?

Thanks to JackFrost, KevinS, iam and itguru,
For your efforts to help me out with this. I have tried MS open office and in my trials with it it will not read Word #2 for Windows.
These files written in Word 2 for Windows were written on a Gateway Color Book Laptop using the MS 3.1 OS from 1998 thru 2001.
Any further suggestions ?
And how do you all feel about MS showing so little concern for their customers that they don't make at least all past Word Processing programs that Originated with THEM(MS,)supportable and workable on all THEIR subsequent systems?
I had the XP professional OS which worked very well for me - I took a Vista computer only because my XP machine was down and the Vista was on sale. I have not found a single Significant thing that their Vista OS has provided us that the XP OS did not do adequately. Hence, I conclude that MS only developed Vista to make certain programmers and MS more $.
ANOTHER QUESTION: What would be the cheapest way to have a Dell Inspiron Lap Top repaired whose screen gives only a flash of light and then a dull glow with nothing on screen booting up? It does appear that there is some damage to the screen-opening hinge assembly in its connection to the main computer keyboard unit.
?? It is a year past the warranty period.
