What is the fastest way to copy 4 GB CD HD

Specs: Windows Vista, Pentium 4/ 4gb
Vista is really slow in copying files from a CD or DVD to the Hard Drive. It takes longer than two hours to do the job. Fast computer amd ample memory. Is there any software that can do this quicker?

... there are a lot of (non)burning apps out there that will copy your cd/DVD as an "iso" (or similar) image which can be opened or run off a virtual drive!

... examples:

"...pentathol makes you sing like a canary"
... got brain freeze

Something is wrong, it shouldn't be that slow. Might be dma issue.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, antivirus, anti-spyware, Live CD's, backups, are in my top 10
