All of a sudden I can't click the drop down url box to see the top websites I've been going to. As soon as I click the down arrow to see the drop menu of sites it pops up and then off.... In fact drop down menus on eBay also will not come up like when I tried to select a size, it just opens and closes right away. ALSO when I put my cursor over things that usually display a label after a second floating over something with the mouse, instead of showing me and staying it quickly flashes on screen and disappears , the same way the drop down menus open and close.

I've noticed all of a sudden that the little volume icon in the system tray right corner of my screen goes to MAX volume if I click the volume. Even if I quickly click and drag the slider down, as soon as I click off it slides right back up...

These 2 symptoms have just started 12 hours ago.

Oh yea, & there have been a few random beep noises that I can't pinpoint or contribute to anything I'm doing. Can't figure out what's causing them, but they are new too, so I guess 3 weird symptoms of something going on with my netbook all of a sudden.

OK and now symptom 4, trying to bookmark this page, but the small pop up box that usually has me select which folder etc to bookmark the website pops up on screen and flashes off in an instant.

I ran AVG it found nothing.

I did system restore to 4 days ago, did not fix the problem.

What do these symptoms mean, and how do I get rid? I have a Eee PC SeaShell Series NETBOOK. Windows Vista running.

I have a somewhat similar situation except you cannot even control the volume slider, as the cursor just goes behind it. The volume slider stays in the middle of the screen no matter what you do and it is very annoying as you cannot read behind it. Please someone help me. It is not a virus as I run the anti-virus and it is still there. Thanks.

Always best to start a new thread.

When you go to Device Manager are there any errors showing to do with sound?

Updating your sound drivers might fix it.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
