Comment: The HP 3845 printer is connected to Windows XP system and they are working normally. When the print command is given from Vista system which is on LAN with XP home system the printed material on the paper appers lower down and towards the left i.e the margins are changed which otherwise on vista system appear normal on print preview. Please solve my problem.

Reply: (edit)Has it ever worked? Is the printer shared on the XP system? Did you run the install printer on the Vista system? Richard

Reply: (edit)Try updating the driver for the printer, if that does not work try deleting the printer and doing a redetect. According to HP the printer drivers are part of Vista and should load when the printer is installed. Richard

Reply: (edit)I have connected the HP 3845 directly to the machine[vista home premium] and the system recognises the printer driver as HP deskjet 3840 series[LiDiL]when directly connected and prints normally.I again connected the system on LAN [with XP home] and the problem of malalignment still persists. Can we do something??

Reply: (edit)Hi, I'm afraid that I don't have the answer but I do have exactly the same problem. Also when I print the test page from the Vista PC on the LAN, not only is the text centered on the page but the Windows icon does not print at all. When printed directly from the Vista PC to the printer everything is fine. When I first tried printing from the Vista over the LAN everything, including all the text, was a mirror image! After deleting and reinstalling the network printer the mirror image thing sorted itself out but the logo remained missing and the text remained centered on the page. If anyone can help then I too would be very interested and appreciative!
