Comment:
Im constantly being reminded that i need to update vista but when i try by automatic it says 'security center cant change your automatic update settings' and manually on the windows update site it doesnt allow me. Im thinking a virus or maybe its just another vista glitch. Any help would be great thanks.

Try registering the following:
Click Start, select Run and type:
regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 wups.dll Press enter after each one and wait for the success message
I only suceeded with 2 of the 5 dll's wuapi.dll and atl.dll worked the rest had this error
The module "wups.dll" was loaded but the call to DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005
