Comment:

January 2007 I purchased my Toshiba Laptop (after my old one was stolen). I also purchased a Vista Ultime Upgrade from BestBuy. I immediately upgraded my OS to Ultimate after receiving the Laptop.

This month I reformatted my hard drive to do a clean install of vista. I usted the Toshiba Recovery disks and had no troubles with the restore. However, upon initiating the isntallation for the upgrade I get a message saying I must install the upgrade on the original computer.

I understand why this may be happening, different operating system preloaded on the laptop than is on the recovery disks.

How do I install the upgrade? How can I contact Microsoft Activation. How do I resolve this. I purchased the product, and it IS the exact same computer. But it's not letting me install it again.

to activate vista you have to call that number when you are looking at system properties and the activation at the bottom stating that you have 3 days to activate.
Keep us posted.
