I'll start off covering by providing you with a very useful Keyboard shortcuts for the first ten items in the Vista Quick Launch tray. Try it and you will find it very convenient over the mouse particularly with respect to activating Aero.

These hotkeys are by design built-in. You don't have to do anything to tweak it. I wonder why M$ neglected to include the above tip in its own Windows Help & How to article for Keyboard shortcuts. Maybe like us they are still learning the inside out of Vista.

This is my tip. What tip do you have? Let's keep this thread going.

like in XP, the Vista quick launch bar becomes more more sluggish and less responsive with increasing load.

as a long time use of True Launch Bar (and firm believer into its mighty powers :-) i'm well used to quick launch keyboard shortcuts.

True Launch Bar is way faster and offers much more options which makes it still a valuable tool for Vista.

The link below supposedly will improve performance and decrease RAM usage. BEWARE: It isn't for the faint-hearted nor noobs like myself. Heed my advice - Read the warnings before you try it ..... (P.S. you can't hold me responsible if your Vista got screwed) ...

Ben Gunn,

Great suggestion but to do so I must first die as XpUser and be resurrect as VistaUser. LOL.

Saber - LOL - consider the order accomplished :-)

Mattie,

Have you ever tried THIS? This one will move the the Quick Launch toolbar to the side side of screen with screencast. YouTube video instruction is included.

clever :-)

but as i said, if you're using QL (many don't use it at all) you should try True Launch Bar and you'll NEVER go back :-)

on their website is also a nice flash tutorial ... well worth watching, even more WOW!
