why would a vista sp 1 system with great specs and rates over 5.0 on the ratings check, with 2 gig ram and no usb mouse or keyboard freeze when waking

See event viewer.

Normally is a driver issue.

"Best Practices", Event viewer, host file, perfmon, are in my top 10

It's your choice, put personally I stay away from Standby and Hibernation because they both cause numerous problems.

owww, i had the same problem, live one care fixed it with the first install, the program is free for 90 days and it takes care of all the viruses and other computer problems, You can get full version live one care free for 90 days here
