Comment: How exactly do I know if I'm running the Vista SP1? I checked the auto download history, but nothing looking like the SP1 was registered. Do I need to download it manually from the Windows Download Center? Thanks.

Reply: (edit)Go to the Windows Orb (Start) type winver and press Enter. If SP1 is installed it will display ‘Version 6.0 (Build 6001: Service Pack 1)’.

Reply: (edit)Thanks a lot lads. That cleared it up! Turns out I only have the 6000 Build. One more question: Is the upgrade worth it--beneficial? Thanks.

Reply: (edit)Well that article says "Automatic update delivery, either through WSUS (Windows Server Update Services) or Windows Update, will come later." I don't recall exactly where I read the mid to end of April part but I know I read is somewhere. Tech Alpha Computer Forums

Reply: (edit)i've got vista running on 2 machines here and neither one got the auto update. maybe it just hasn't been pushed to everyone yet. Sometimes it takes a while to get it. Regardless I had to manually download it on this computer to install it. I even checked Windows update and it wasn't there. Tech Alpha Computer Forums

Reply: (edit)I didn't get it via the auto-update either. I'll wait until the end of April and see if gets to me, automatically. Thanks.
