Hi! Chaps, has anyone come up with a solid answer to Vista Backup error 0x8007045d yet. I found an answer on Microsoft-Tech, but it didn't work, and the forum is inundated with owners with the same problem, and it was dated March 28th last, surely microsoft should have brought out a patch for it by now. I have a 250gb Book external drive, and can't backup my system, it is very frustrating, thanks for any help.

PROBLEM EXPLANATION This problem was in XP as well. You cannot backup any files which are being used and even if the only process youve got running is the Backup tool (Which isnt posssible) your page file is still being used.
SOLUTION 1 Grant the program adminastrative rights
SOLUTION 2 Manually copy the files onto a backup device
SOLUTION 3 Copy the files onto a Non-windows disk and backup.
Need help with computers. Stay away from Microsoft.
