This has happened since the day I bought the CPU home. I am sure I click on the 'shut down' command and the CPU would shut down, only to restart itself all over again after a 2 second interval. The only thing I'm doing now is to shut down the power supply when the CPU shuts down immediately so that it would not restart.
Never encountered this before and the guy at the computer shop told me to download the Windows updates and this prob would be solved, but not so!!!

Hello aurora26 ,
I expect you need to do a start-up repair , this tutorial from bleeping computers explains howhttp://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tut...
You may also not have a Full install disk , so this will do .
http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windo...Some people have reported problems when they have burned this disk with Nero , I have had no problems with Vista's burner or Cdburnerxp ,
just slow the burn speed down a bit , it' not a race !If start-up repair does not do it for you try system restore .
This should work for you , as for " the guy in the computer shop " he is talking out of the wrong orafice in my opinion .
no 404s .
