So, here's the deal. I have had some registry troubles with Vista recently, which I primitively solved by deleting the system32 from recovery mode and letting the disk repair it. The system ran fine for a while, until suddenly it would not start to anything but a menu with only shutdown and ease of access options (somewhat ironic, I know). I have installed updates and restarted several times, all to no avail. When I attempt to boot into safe mode, all I get is a black screen. Any advice?

As far as the BIOS goes, I have this:
SATA Channel 1 Master [WDC WD2500KS-00MJBO]
SATA Channel 2 Master [WDC WD2500KS-00JMBO]
3 and 4 are none, then
SATA Channel 5 Master [LITE-ON DVDRW LH-20A]
and 6 is none.

Drive A is none, Base Memory is 640K and Extended is 2095104K.
I have it so the CDROM boots first, then the Hard Drive.

I don't know much about the BIOS, so tell me if you need anything more. Attached is what my startup looks like, except without the login option. I didn't create a username that had a password, could that have something to do with this?

You're running Vista Beta version, right?

It's hard to know the extent of your exercise here & I would suggest a repair (upgrade install) of Vista.
