Comment:

Can anybody tell me how to get Vista media Centre working, I gather it needs some more graphics drivers, but as my supplier doesn't include a motherboard book, I've no way of knowing what graphics I've got.
Also, I'm sure that when it was advertised, it said rhat partition software was included, but I can,t find any mention of it, can anybody help please.
Thanks in advance for any replies.

What exactly is the issue with it - you need to describe the problem in details & if possible include specific error messages that you are getting.

Hello Sabertooth,
thank you for answering, to fully answer you question. After clicking on media centre in programs, the media centre window apears with all controls, if you click on Video, the screen goes black, and a message comes up that media centre has stopped working, and windows will close t he program, and notify if it finds a solution (it never does).
If you go to setup, a message comes up that the Tuner cannot be found, so the tv signal cannot be configured (this is rubbish, because the Vista book states that a tv tuner is built into the system) If it needs a driver, why does it not say so.
I didn't get a motherboard book with my system, so I don't know what graphic card I've got, that's about all that I can tell you, hope this helps.

...because the Vista book states that a tv tuner is built into the system

Only if your PC is equipped with a TV tuner (either integrated or with external USB TV tuner) - says this article.

On the other hands if your computer has no TV tuner, an optional analog or digital TV tuner is required - look HERE for more info.

Thank Sabertooth.
It looks as if I've been taken for a ride again, doesn't it, I wonder how many other people are wondering why they get error messages with Media Centre.
Hauppauge give their price as $89, without postage, seems a lot to me, that's almost a 5th
of what I paid for thev whole system.
Have you anymore suggestions?
If not, thanks for your help anyway.

You were naive that's all. Next time you'll try to be armed with more information when shopping. IMO no one is really to blame for your current predicament - chalk it up & move on. There are other cheap tuner cards out there but don't come back complaining if you end up dissatisfied with your decision to go for the cheapest one you can find.

Just go to your CN welcome page & clear or change the email field entry then hit set/change button. If the edit does not stick you need to logout of CN, clear your internet cache (cookies) & then log back in. That ought to fix it.

Good luck!
