Solved Vista keeps changing back to old date/time

December 14, 2012 at 11:31:30
Specs: Windows Vista

We keep changing clock to current time and day and sometime within days it keeps going back to the year 2007. How do I fix this? It's my mom's PC and she is 83. Could she be doing something I don't know about?

The CMOS battery may be weak. How old the computer is?

Hi,

As very well said by "probfixer". This means you might have a bad CMOS battery.

With the reading your CMOS battery is showing only the machine in actual operation and will be able to hold your CMOS settings, once you shut it down they're gone.
