Subject: vista ignores mouseOS: vista business/opensuse 1CPU/Ram: amdx2 4200+/1GBModel/Manufacturer: N/A |
Comment: The other day, for no apparent reason, my mouse stopped working entirely on vista. my normal optical cable mouse didn't even light up, and whilst the receiver on my wireless one did light up, it still doesn't work. both mice work fine on the same ports of the same machine when I boot in openSUSE, but vista doesn't want to know. I haven't made any changes recently that I can think of. If anyone knows what could cause such a problem I would be grateful to hear from them. Thanks

Reply: (edit)I tried putting the usb mouse on a ps2 adapter, but it still doesn't work, so i'm guessing it's not a usb problem

Reply: (edit)Many USB/PS2 adapters do not work together. That's not a fail safe test. Do as suggested above and dump all the USB ports in Device Mngr. and reboot. Windows will automatically install all the drivers again for you. It usually takes more than three weeks to prepare a good impromptu speech. - Mark Twain
