Vista Fujitsu tablet PC won't Boot

December 14, 2009 at 17:10:41
Specs: Windows Vista HP
I have a Fujitsu T4215 Tablet PC, with Vista Home Premium, 2GB RAM.

Yesterday the computer locked up. When I tried to reboot it, it would not get past the screen with the scrolling green bar. Trying to boot in safe mode it hangs on the crcdisk.sys line.

I thought no problem, I would pop in the Vista CD and use the repair function. It has worked many times before.

So much for my pride, the CD loads the installation files, goes through the scrolling green bar phase, and then hangs.

When my son tried to install Linux, it hung on the partitioning stage.

Any ideas on how to resolve the problem would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mark

"When my son tried to install Linux, it hung on the partitioning stage"

That may not have been a good choice to try. A live linux cd would have been better.

I think you might try ultimate boot cd and see what the hard drive tools say about your drive/controller.

You have to be able to boot the system to get to any command.

If the system doesn't boot to HD or DVD for a MS install then try a linux disk. See if ultimate boot cd will start and load.

The only other thing you can try is to boot to safe mode with command prompt. It was suggested on another site but I doubt it will help.
