im having the exact same problem

freeze after waking

previously i had a problem with my computer waking itself up... anyone who experiences this can do to device manager, select a wireless keyboard mouse set (yes, that is the source of your trouble) and one of the settings disable "allow this device to wake my computer"

then download a hotfix IF your usb ports are not coming back on after a wake up
(maybe you think your frozen but its just that your mouse is usb and the usb port is off after waking up) test this ... if its the usb not waking download the hotfix from microsoft... i forget the link youll have to google

but after all this MY COMPUTER STILL FREEZES when it wakes up

crappy

This must be unique to your machine. I have 2 machines running Vista with wireless usb keyboard/mouse, and I don't have this problem. I don't kmow what your problem is but I can tell you that most freeze ups are in fact memory related. I also know that Logitech (if that's what you're using) has some pretty shaky drivers. Make sure they are at least up to date.

Why are you trying to wake up a desktop or maybe I should rephrase that -- why are you even putting it to sleep?

It may not be memory related. I have a similar problem with Vista, but not with Windows XP. I like putting my computer in standby or hibernation and I have not been experiencing any problems with it for quite a while. It is probably an issue specific to Vista. Similar power management issues have occurred over the years for XP. Hopefully Microsoft will have a fix for this soon.

This should be my last post on this matter. I found that if you unplug the mouse and/or keyboard and plug them into a different USB port, they will work when bringing the computer out of hibernation mode. I'm not sure this will always work and it's not that great a solution, either. Also, when I brought the computer out of S3 sleep mode, I had no problem with the mouse or keyboard. Hope that helps.
