I'v installed vista on my computer. I installed the drivers I downloaded. All seemed to worked well. But every time I cold boot my computer It starts searching for the drivers. A reboot don't cause the problem. Could this be caused by my hardware?

The first time i installed my sound drivers i had this problem. But i reinstalled them throught the device manager and that seemed to work well.
yo

It's been almost a week since I installed vista. Some of the driver it reinstalles are
PCI standard PCI-to-PCI bridge
VIA Standard PCI to PCI Bridge
Realtek High Definition Audio
VIA/S3G DeltaChrome IGPSome times there is more. My motherbord is a ASUS k8v-vm.

Yep, been there, done that, same exact thing!
I spent plenty of time on the phone with MS tech support with no luck.
I downloaded latest BIOS from the motherboard manufacturer and it solved the proble.

I don't know, as soon as I got Vista compatible drivers I had no problems. Check into getting different drivers. Also from experience...... NEVER go with the drivers offered through Windows updates.

I updated the BIOS and I think It has worked. So now it dosn't reinstall the drivers all I have to do is stop it from freezing, crashing and rebooting every 5 ro 10 Minutes. Mabe I should do a full reinstallation of vista.

I can't remember for sure but I think I did a fresh install too, that would sound reasonable. Please keep me posted on how it turns out. The thing that irritated me most was when the soundcard driver installed, the default volume was at 100% and it startled the heck out of me!
Good luck!

Well it has taken me all morning of installing Vista to work to get a fully working version of Windows XP. I'm Sort Of duel booting XP and vista. I have worked out that if I cold boot Vista and leave it for 3-4 minute then login all the drivers there and working. You're right about the default volume. I was using 1 in-ear headphone at the time.

When Vista cold boots, you should be able to log in immediately. You shouldn't have to wait 3-4 minutes. Are you saying that if you log in immediately, you have to go through the driver installation process?

Thats right. If I swich-on, wait until the logon screen, then wait until the harddisk to stops buzzing and then log-in it all works. But if I don't wait for the harddisk to stop buzzing it starts searching for drivers when I log-in. It's just weird I guess.
