I've been bashing my head at this for 3 days now and still no result. Maybe someone here can help. Basically my DVD drive does not work.
Here's some background info. I have a computer with 2 partitions. One running XP and one running Vista. The DVD drive works perfectly fine on XP and boots from a CD/DVD without any problems. But it refuses to work in Vista. The icon is there and it seems to work but as soon as I put any DVD or CD in it, it stalls and doesn't work.
I've removed the Upper and Lower filters. I've reinstalled the drivers. I flashed the firmware and checked the plugs and wires to make sure that everything was connected properly but the problem persists.
Is there anything I can do? The drive is an NEC ND3550A. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
