Vista DVD can't boot

Specs: Windows XP, 2.81ghz/952mhz
When I try to boot from the Dvd-rom it come up with a black screen with a curser on the left brinking. I hear the dvd-rom spin up but after some time it moves to the hard drive and boot's to xp. Then xp loads I try to start vista from the dvd-rom but it ask me to place a cd in the drive.

The problem seem's only on my desktop, if I try the vista dvd on my laptop it works find.

What can it be?
Trying to install vista utimate
Motherboard is a Asus p5b-vm

I downloaded the bios update and that didn't help:(
